It’s all about a unique experience in the waters of the famous Beagle Channel. You will have the opportunity of diving in a very special place, where the mountains meet the sea, and discover the secrets and wonders hidden at the depth of the channel. During the dive, you will be able to watch giant algae, shipwrecks, king crabs, jelly fish and other sea fauna.
It’s a program that can be done the entire year, except when winds are too strong, and the sea becomes turbulent, while visibility is scarce. In summer the great amount of plankton diminishes visibility at the water.
The water is cold and thus special equipment is available for divers. Temperatures in the water go from 2 to 4 degrees centigrade in winter while in summer temperatures range from 8 to 10 degrees centigrade.
When diving at the waters of the Beagle Channel, you will find what seems to be a submerged forest and it’s really spectacular when sun rays illuminate the depth pf the channel. The established limit for diving is around 12 meters. One recommended site for diving are the Bridges Islands which abound in spectacular walls and limited depth. The most usual places for diving are Karelo, Canalcito and Iturrieta.
Everybody can dive at Ushuaia, from beginners to professionals. Beginners will go to Paso Chico in the Dos Lomos Island, where you will be able to sight the remnants of a sail boat that sunk during a fierce storm.
The attraction of this program is that you have the possibility to appreciate the flora and fauna of the Beagle Channel zone, which is indeed very rich. Here you will find a kind of gigantic algae known as cachiyuyos, which main characteristic is there longitude since they can reach 40 meters long, which helps diminishing the size of waves. You can also see luche algae, of red colour and are able to eat.
It is also possible to sight poriferos, a specie that lives at the bottom of the sea, such as white and orange sponges. Also anemone that live below the rocks, and the enormous jelly fishes that are suspended between surface and bottom of the sea.
Other species that can be easily found are the star fish, hedge hogs, sea cucumber and zillions of mollusk tied to the rocks, such as mussels, cholgas and king crabs which reach a size of one meter diameter, the black hake, and the local sardine.
The estancia is located on the Beagle Channel, 50 miles east of Ushuaia by road. It is possible to reach Harberton by land, taking Ruta Nacional No 3 up to Rancho Hambre (25 miles asphalt) where the Andes crossing starts. You then take Ruta Provincial J (30 miles gravel), for a total lapse of one hour and thirty minutes. Most of the way follows the course of the river Lasifashaj along the Valley of Tierra Mayor, where you will be able to sight the ski and winter resorts and mountainous scenery of Ushuaia until you arrive again to the Beagle Channel, at Admiral Brown Bay. Across the channel you will be able to to watch the small town of Puerto Williams, at the north cosat of Navarino Island (Chile).
Along the way, you will be able to enjoy the best of the Fueguino scenery, its mountainous cords, deep lengas forests, extended turbales, beaver houses and along the shores the characteristic Flag Trees shaped by the srong winds of the SW over an extended glacier area.
You can reach Estancia Harberton, either with an Agency or taking a taxi or renting a car. We recommend to fill up the tank as there are no service stations outside the city.
There are two Canopy circuits. The long circuit counts with nine ziplines and two hanging bridges. It’s the most fun circuit not only because the number of tirolesas but also because the hanging bridges have features that make them most attractive for adventure seekers. Two people can make this tour in 40 minutes.
Short circuit, it’s composed of seven ziplines. It’s ideal for Groups of more than 10 passengers or those who are short of time. Two people can make this circuit in 30 minutes aprox.
There is also another circuit of 6 ziplines for groups of 20 or more passengers.
We start our day heading north of the island taking Ruta Nacional No 3 until we get to Puerto Almanza, the southernmost fishing harbor in Argentina. In this town, most of the population dedicates to artisanal fishing, mainly king crabs, mussels, cholgas, and other mollusks typical in this area. Our hosts, a local family, are waiting for us to start the adventure.
We sail travelling the coasts until we reach the designated fishing point. At the place we drop the nets and wait until we get some big king crabs!
Sailing back, our hosts are waiting for us to teach us prepare a dinner , the king crab patagonic style, boiled with sea water and local vegetables from de garden, joined with local stories told by our hosts and the satisfaction for a day full of activities and magnificent scenery.

Taxi from the hotel to the base of Martial Glacier. We start the trekking going through a deep lengas forest until we reach the ice platform of the glacier, and we enjoy the panoramic landscape of the city and the Beagle channel. At the base of the glacier you will found a Tea House were you can taste refreshment and hot drinks.

You will be able to sail 2,5 miles in canoe and later travel the lumberjack stepway en 4x4 trucks.
The program starts at 8,45AM from your hotel. The transfer will pick you up to start the ride to Escondido Lake, distant 45 miles from Ushuaia City. We estimate arrival at Escondido Lake by 9,30AM . Before we start rowing, the guide will brief us on lake conditions, security measures to bear in mind during navigation, that will take around one hour. Travel continues at Fagnano Lake,where we will board 4x4 trucks to drive through stepways and woodcutters trails. We will cross the wods into the Fagnano shores where a delicious barbecue will be waiting for us. Around 5 PM we start our travel back to Ushuaia.
Details of the Menu lunch will be served at 1PM and includes a delicious antipasto with various cheeses and cold cuts, argentine barbecue, salads, drinks, desserts,tea and coffee.

The jorney starts al 9AM when all wheel trucks will pick you up at your hotel. We head north to the north center of the island of Tierra del Fuego, in a journey of adventure and amusement for the whole family, from babies to seniors.
First stop will be on the Winter Resorts at Valle Mayor where we will visit a Siberian Huskies Kennel Club, and learn about the winter activites with the dog sleighs and the motor sleighs. Even thou there is no snow in the summer, dogs are trained the entire year and we have the possibility of meeting them training and eventualy ride with them in the training sleigh.
Later we go under the tunnels of Cerro Castor winter ski resort and start climbing the Andes reaching Paso Garibaldi the highest point in our route where we can appreciate Lago Escondido -Hidden Lake- name given by the fact that when the days are foggy it is impossible to sight the lake from the route.
We descend with the National Route #3 , the first ground access to Ushuaia from the north and the continent. We continue our journey visiting the old sawmills in the trail of the lumberjacks. The guides will direct you through hidden trails, in lengas forests where it is possible to sight numerous kinds of birds and red foxes. We walk through beaver dikes where the guide will explain how the exotic beaver population progresses as they have no natural predator and the damage they are causing to the natural environment.
The final goal of the excursion is to get to the coast of Lago Fagnano, where our cabins are located, where we enjoy a complete lunch, with grilled cuts of delicious argentine meat, salads, wine and refreshments. While the guides prepare the feast, we walk the coast of Lago Fagnano or walk to the Palacios Lagoon at 800 mts walking distance. After lunch, you will enjoy some rest and contemplate the magnificent spectacle or walk around and try delicious "alfajores" with tea, coffee or mate, the local infusion. The departure back to the city will be about 4:30 to 5:00 PM.
The Tour starts at your hotel, as a minibus with a tour guide will pick you up at your residence. We then drive to the National Park, distant 9 miles from Ushuaia city.
First stop will be the Fin del Mundo Train Station (End of the World). There you will be able to enjoy a 60 min travel by train, along the course of the famous original stepway made by the prisoners. With the train we travel the old trail the prisoners did when looking for wood. The train travels through wonderful natural scenarios with deep forests, rivers, peatbogs, and the remnants of an ancient Yamana settlement, the first natives that inhabited the area. Before entering the National Park, we will stop at the Macarena waterfall.
Bear in mind that the travel by train is optional, one way, since at the end of the railway we will be waiting for you with the minibus and the Tour Guide to start our visit to the Park. Once at the Park you will be able to observe at the more typical species of the Fueguino Forest, mainly Beeches, Nires, Lengas, Barba de Indio, and Farolitos Chinos, all among a surface extension of 63,000 Hectares (aprox 650.000 acres)
The first place to visit is the southernmost end of National Route Nbr 3, at Lapataia Bay, where we will be able to look at the famous sign FIN DEL MUNDO, symbolizing the connection between Alaska and Tierra del Fuego, the extremes of the American continent united by the famous Pan American Highway.
We continue then towards Green Lake (Laguna Verde) wher we will be able to sight one of the faces of Cerro Condor (Condor Hill), which forms part of the border with Chile. Next stop will be Lake Roca, which originally received the indian name of ACIGAMI, or long basket case. At this viewing point we will be able to sight the typical patagonic view of mountain, lakes and forests.
The last place to visit, and eventually the most pretty is Ensenada Zaratiegui (Cove). At the place you will be able to to admire Isla Redonda and visit the last Post Office of the Correo Argentino where foreign visitors use to stamp their passports and send postcards to places all over the world with the stamp fin del mundo.
At all stops we get down from the bus to take advantage of panoramic views, take photos and receive descriptions of the tour guide.

We sail from the Ushuaia harbour where the visit starts travelling the Ushuaia Bay towards the Beagle Channel.
With the Catamaran we round the Isla de los Pajaros where he passengers will be able to sight the diverse flora and fauna, in particular big sea birds such as Skuas, Black Eyebrow Albatross, Cauquenes, Cook Seagulls and Grey Seagulls.
We later visit Isla de los Lobos where the main attraction are the seawolves of one and two furs. Isla de los Pajaros and Isla de los Lobos are part of the Bridges archpelago. At the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, we will stop to take those typical potos that we want to keep as souvenirs. At the island we will be able to sight Imperial and Rock Cormorans, and we will be lectured about the shipwreck of the SS monte Cervantes in the thirties.
During the return to Ushuaia, we will enjoy beatiful scenery, in particular the mountainous cord of Martial.
The jouney starts with the travel from the Ushuaia Bay towards the Beagle Channel. We visit Bird Island, were we will sight the flora and fauna, in particular some interesting sea birds like skuas, black eyebrow albatross, cauquenes, cook gulls, and grey gulls. We continue to the Island of Seawolves, were the main atraccion are seawolves of one and two furs. These two islands are part of the Bridges archpelago. At the Lighthouse Les Eclaireures , in the middle of the Beagle Channel, we stop for a typical photo with the lighthouse in the backstage, that symbolic photo of the harbour and bay of Ushuaia that we all want to keep as souvenir. At the same place you will apreciate the imperial and rock cormorants as well as learn about the shipwreck of the SS Monte Cervantes in the 30's . From there we head east where after a few minutes we will sight Puerto Almanza on the Argentine side and the chilean navy base Puerto Williams on the other side of the channel. A few minutes later we stop for half an hour at the Martillo Island were we will visit a penguin colony with Magellan , Papua and King penguin families
Afterwards we start the journey back to the city. We travel close to the coast of the channel allowing us to take a look at the flora and fauna from close range until we sight Estancia Tunel and Estancia Remolino, where since 1912 lays the submerged hull of the Monte Sarmiento steamer.
The final view of the journey back to the Ushuaia dock is the mountainous Andes cord that surrounds Ushuaia. Its a journey full of richness both from the historic as well as natural standpoints.

Requirements: total length of the trekking is 6 miles, while the the distance by car to the lake is 25 miles. You start from a height of 260 meters above sea while lake Emerald is 450 meters above sea, that is a 200 mts climb.
Itinerary: either via an Agency transfer or your own rented car you drive to a Siberian and Alaskan Huskies Kennel, 12 miles away from the city. There is where the stepway starts. First stage of the trekking is under the woods and allow us to enjoy incredible sights of the Valley of Tierra Mayor and Carvajal. The rest of the walk carries us through lengas forests, mountains, hanging glaciers, turbals, and allows to enjoy close views of the flora and fauna of the place, specially the huge diversity of birds that fly over the territory. Such is the travel until you reach the magnificent Laguna Esmeralda, which name perfectly describes the tonality of its waters.
The lake is rounded by the Albino Glacier , the Torres and the Toribio cords, and it is precisely this spot the place to enjoy the views of the landscape and the lake. After resting a while, the trekking back to the transport starts.
